A question arose here at work, can you grow an avocado here in the north. Well the short answer is yes, and the site http://faq.gardenweb.com/faq/lists/seed/2002114535011263.html tells you how.

Here’s some interesting nutritional facts about avocados:

  • Avocados contain just 5 grams of fat per serving.
  • Avocados contain NO cholesterol and NO sodium.
  • Avocados contain 60% more potassium per ounce than bananas!
  • Avocados are high in fiber, vitamin B6, vitamin C, vitamin E, potassium and folate.

Family Tree Update

Well, I have some news on the family tree – I was able to get a hold of, what looks like, a distant relative in Germany – I won’t tell his name, only that it appears that when my Great-Great-Grandfather immigrated to the U.S., at which point he changed his last name from Schoffelmann to Schoffelman.

So i took a stab in the dark – I started searching some of my internet channels for the last name Schoffelmann and came across one who lives in Germany. He confirmed that He remembered his Dad telling him that he had a few distant relatives that immigrated to the U.S.

The neat thing about is, from old records I found a few years ago, I knew our family came from a specific region in Germany. When I asked Mr. Schoffelmann from Germany where his family was from, he listed that same area as a part of his origin.

Now, there’s more information to it, but for the sake of reserving the privacy of my family, i won’t divulge anymore information – unless of course – you are family. In which case, just get a hold of me.

Google History – Daily Find…

This is actually a find that i discovered about a year and a 1/2 ago, but thought it would be a good post. It’s about Google History. If you have a Gmail account, chances are you have had a good portion of your internet history tracked from them, and tracked for some time.

I think it’s enabled by default, and to be honest, I’m a bit surprised i haven’t heard more about it in my feeds. Typically, anything Google does will pop up on the radar of the ZDNet tech blogs out there, but this one had either slipped under the radar or was brought up before i subscribed.

You can disable this feature with a little bit of searching. To be honest, at the time of my discovery, it was a good wake up call, looking at everything i had viewed on the internet. Most of it not bad, but there were a few things, as i looked at it in a list form, that i thought i could do with out.

We must remember that even though we can cover our track’s here on earth, there is always someone out there that knows what you do behind closed doors. You can be set free from the additions of your past, the strongholds the enemy has/had on you and the confusion running loose in your mind.
